The Carrefour group is the first retailer to have organized, on May 18th, the first recruitment event in the metaverse. In partnership with VR Academie, students from Ecole Polytechnique and Institut Mines-Telecom Business School found themselves immersed in an environment created for the occasion. The thirty candidates had the chance to meet the CEO of the Carrefour group, Alexandre Bompard, and to attend a presentation of the group's ambitions in the data domain.
This event was an opportunity to introduce these candidates to the data professions at Carrefour. Our operational teams came to present their jobs and discuss with the candidates the challenges the group is facing.
The Carrefour group's ambition to become a digital retail company is based on a "data-centric, digital first" approach. In other words, the Carrefour group is placing data-related jobs at the heart of its strategy for 2026 and wishes to make these profiles aware of the many opportunities it has to offer. Candidates who are attracted by the group's ambitions will then have the opportunity to join our teams through a specific recruitment process.
Our group had already proposed a first experience on the fortnite platform in which players were made aware of the challenges of healthy eating. After acquiring a land on The Sandbox, Carrefour launched its first NFBEES collection dedicated to the protection of bees. This recruitment event is the third one in the metaverse and marks the Carrefour group's desire to keep innovating in the web3 universe.
